The work should not depend on me forever. The goal is a team that can make better decisions after the engagement ends.
How I think about the work.
Name the real problem.
If we can't name it in one sentence, we are not solving it. We are managing it.
Fewer, better calls.
An engagement that ends with more options has not done its job. The job is to close them down.
If it doesn't ship, it isn't real.
A strategy that doesn't show up in next week's calendar is a document, not a decision.
Leave the team able.
The success measure is what the team can do six months after I'm gone.
